Terms of Service

Last updated: 25 September 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of The Filter, the web application available at thetradefilter.com (the "Tool"), currently operated by Mike Marta as an individual ("we," "us," "our"). The Filter is an early, free tool and is not yet operated through a registered company; this page will be updated if and when that changes. By creating an account or using the Tool, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Tool.

1. What The Filter is

The Filter is a checklist and journaling tool. You enter your own trading rules; the Tool applies those rules to a trade you describe and shows you what your own rules say about it. It also lets you log trades, review your history, and optionally request a second read from a human trader.

2. Not financial advice

The Filter does not provide investment, trading, or financial advice, and is not a signal service. Nothing produced by the Tool, including a grade, a score, a "hold" or "pro read" suggestion, a chart, or a message from any trader, is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial instrument. We are not a licensed financial adviser, broker, or investment firm, and nothing on this site should be treated as personalized financial advice. Trading foreign exchange, indices, commodities, and cryptocurrency carries a substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every person. You are solely responsible for every trading decision you make and every outcome that follows from it, whether or not you used the Tool first.

3. Your account

4. Your data and content

You own the trade data, notes, and screenshots you log. You grant us a licence to store and process that content solely to operate the Tool for you (show your journal, compute your dashboard, generate your share cards). We do not sell your trade data. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data.

5. Share cards and community content

If you use the "Share" feature, an image containing your trade result (pair, direction, grade, reward:risk, and a short lesson line, but never your account balance or dollar P/L) is generated for you to post externally. You choose whether and where to post it. We may showcase anonymized, aggregate statistics (for example, community win rates) inside the Tool.

6. The "pro read" / brief feature

Sending a brief connects you with a human trader (not an automated signal) for a second opinion, subject to a weekly usage limit shown in the app. A pro read is an opinion, not advice, and is provided on the same basis as Section 2 above.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: reverse-engineer or scrape the Tool; resell or white-label access without our written permission; use the Tool to distribute unlawful, abusive, or misleading content; or attempt to bypass account, security, or rate-limit controls.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Tool is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy of any market data, pricing, or auto-detected trade results (which come from third-party data providers and can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong). To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any trading losses, lost profits, or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Tool. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Tool is limited to the amount (if any) you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms as the Tool changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
